This unique geography, where Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University is located, has been the scene of crucial events in World History. The current building of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences sits on a hill overlooking one of the migration routes of humankind's ancestors, which has a history of at least 300 thousand years in World History. Again, in terms of location, it is located in a physical geography such as the Marmara Sea, Dardanelles, Gallipoli Peninsula, Aegean Sea, Gökçeada, Bozcaada, Saros Bay, each with its special history. Especially in European education, cultural history, and historical culture, there is a city of Troy that is engrained in its genes. The Trojan War, which is estimated to have taken place in the geography of Troy, has been the subject of thousands of works of literature and art since approximately 3200 years ago.

After this date, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, departments of Archaeology, Western Languages and Literatures, Geography, Eastern Languages and Literatures, Philosophy, Psychology, Art History, Sociology, History and Turkish Language and Literature, separated from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and the Main Branches in these departments. It can offer multi-disciplinary education and diploma opportunities to its students with "double-major" and "sub-major" programs with the academic staff working within it.
It also opens the door to participating in Farabi, Mevlana, and Erasmus exchange programs and benefiting from the educational and cultural opportunities of other universities.
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University has the Diploma Supplement Label, which provides validity in universities in Europe. Label ) and ECTS Label. With the YÖKAK Institutional Accreditation Certificate received by our University in 2022, accreditation studies in the departments of our Faculty have accelerated.
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University - Central Library, which has a seating capacity of approximately 1000 people in an 8,000 m² closed area with two world-class large blocks where students can concentrate comfortably, provides service to its users 24/7. Our library, which can offer printed and electronic publication collections to readers, is only 150 meters away from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Also, Çanakkale- Tübingen With the cooperation agreement between the Troia Foundation M. Osman Library and the Central Library, the special collection of over 10,000 volumes offers a second opportunity for students pursuing their undergraduate and graduate education.
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences works with its valuable and experienced academic staff to raise contemporary, creative, and free individuals who will contribute to the country and world culture with universal thoughts and values.
